This original version takes place entirely in the orphanage and happens in a time frame before the story everyone is familiar with. With a definite air of comedy, this version depicts life in an orphanage. It demonstrates how the orphans maintain their childlike freshness while trying to survive the harsh realities of their situation.

As part of the Mayor's re-election campaign, he is sponsoring a pair of prospective parents who are searching for the perfect little girl to adopt. Annie turns on her charms and despite Mrs. Flannagan's protests wins their hearts. Annie then realizes that her little friend Molly is sad and disappointed and decides to make a sacrifice.


This is a delightful, popular piece for any
Theatre Company or School with lots of fun characters.
